MetOC 都會定向會 | 香港定向比賽 Orienteering in Hong Kong

Start Area

Posted July 10, 2018July 24, 2018 metoc

Please check the following equipment before heading to start area: 1) compass, 2) number bib, 3) electronic control card, & 4) whistle (compulsory for rural races).
Most of the cross-country race adopts interval start, where orienteers from the same class would start with an interval (e.g. 1 or 2 minute depending on the race). While most relay or score races would adopt mass start, i.e. all orienteers from same class start simultaneously.
Map would be distributed to orienteers in the start area. In some races, orienteers have to follow the taped route to start marker (which is the triangle on the map) and begin their navigation.
